第三部分 阅读理解(共两节,满分 40 分) 第一节(共 15 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 30 分) 阅读下列短文,从每题所给的四个选项(A、B、C 和 D)中,选出最佳选项。 A “I got married at 16,”says the smiling Mona Lisa, made famous in Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous painting. She breaks her silence to wave to the audience and answers their questions. Thanks to 3?D technology, holographic images( 全息影像 )and voice recognition technologies , Mona Lisa can speak and move.It is the first time the advanced technologies have been fused together in one exhibition, which gives audiences the opportunity to experience the wonders of advanced technology. Three?dimensional,or 3?D,technology creates visual illusions(错觉)and enables people to see images in the round that are actually only two?dimensional. Although 3?D technology is a difficult scientific concept,it is already being widely used in people’s daily lives. With the development of new three?dimensional digital technologies , it has been changing people’s ways of communicating and working. Digital cameras that record in 3?D have been brought to market. Manufacturers have also launched 3?D digital photo frames, which can broadcast 3?D photos.Processing software allows flat photos in the frame to achieve 3?D visual effects that can be seen by users without wearing special glasses. After nine years of research,China took the lead to establish a 3?D Internet

marketing platform.Internet users can go shopping in a 3?D environment just like in the real world by selecting goods, checking reviews and trying out recommended goods. Web 3?D technology will be used in more fields such as automobiles and travel. In traveling, tourists can enjoy scenic spots, monuments and sites. They also can take to guides and other tourists, who are represented as 3?D virtual figures. In Suzhou, the first online 3?D police station in the world has been established. It has eight functions including various online businesses, public services, warning tips and communication between the police and the public. 56.Why can Mona Lisa speak and move? A.Because it is a robot. B.Because it can really speak and move. C.Because the original painting is three?dimensional. D.Because 3?D creates visual illusions. 57.The underlined word“fused”in Paragraph 2 can be replaced by “______”. A.combined B.focused C.applied D.developed 58.3?D technology is already being used in people’s lives in ______. A.shopping B.work C.travel D.communication 59.How can we appreciate 3?D photos? A.By taking photos with 3?D cameras. B.By wearing special glasses. C.By putting photos into 3?D digital photo frames. D.By installing a software into the photos. B Children start out as natural scientists, eager to look into the world around them.Helping them enjoy science can be easy;there’s no need for a lot of scientific terms or expensive lab equipment. You only have to share your children’s curiosity.Firstly , listen to their questions.I once visited a classroom of seven?year?olds to talk about science as a job.The children asked me “textbook questions”about schooling , salary and whether I liked my job. When I finished answering,we sat facing one another in silence. Finally I said,“Now that we’re finished with your lists,do you have questions of your own about science?” After a long pause,a boy raised his hand,“Have you ever seen how a grasshopper(蚱 蜢)eat? When I try eating leaves like that,I get a stomachache. Why?” This began a set of questions that lasted nearly two hours. Secondly, give them time to think.Studies over the past 30 years have shown that, after asking a question, adults typically wait only one second or less for an answer, no time for a child to think. When adults increase their “wait time” to three seconds or more, children give more logical, complete and creative answers. Thirdly , watch your language.Once you have a child involved in a science discussion, don’t jump in with “That’s right” or “Very good”.These words work well when it comes to encouraging good behavior. But in talking about science, quick praise can signal that discussion is over.Instead , keep things going by saying “That’s interesting” or “I’d never thought of it in that way before”,or coming up with more questions or ideas. Never push a child to“think” . It doesn’t make sense.Children are always thinking, without your telling them to.What’s more, this can turn a conversation into a performance. The child will try to find the answer you want,in as few words as possible,so that he will be a smaller target for your disagreement. Lastly, show;don’t tell.Real?life impressions of nature are far more impressive
-4-

than any lesson children can learn from a book or a television program.Let children look at their fingertips through a magnifying glass(放大镜),and they’ll understand why you want them to wash before dinner.Rather than saying that water evaporates(蒸 发),put a pot of water to boil and let them watch the water level drop. 60.According to the passage, children are natural scientists, and to raise their interest, the most important thing for adults to do is ________. A.let them see the world around B.share the children’s curiosity C.explain difficult phrases about science D.supply the children with lab equipment 61.In the last sentence of the first paragraph, the word“lists” could best be replaced by ________. A.any questions B.any problems C.questions from textbooks D.any number of questions 62.According to the passage, children can answer questions in a more logical, complete and creative way if adults ________. A.ask them to answer quickly B.wait for one or two seconds after a question C.tell them to answer the next day D.wait at least for three seconds after a question 63.In which of the following paragraph(s) does the author tell us what to say to encourage children in a science discussion? A.The second and third. B.The fourth and fifth. C.The fifth and sixth. D.The seventh. C Love and compassion have no cultural boundaries and have reached China from other parts of the world since the disastrous earthquake hit on May 12. The American hip?hop group Black Eyed Peas joined into assist relief efforts for earthquake victims. The band was originally invited to hold a promotional(宣传的)show for some beverage companies in Shanghai, but after the earthquake, the concert became a fund?raiser. The artists also donated personal items, including a guitar, posters and CDs, to a charity auction. In the end, they helped raise nearly 6 million yuan.“We fell in love with China and the Chinese people when we visited here and so we wanted to do all we could to help the people in the aftermath(后果) of the earthquake,” one band member William said. Apart from African?American William,Black Eyed Peas has three other members, Fergie,Apldeap and Taboo.Allen Pineda Lindo, also known as Apldeap, possesses a blood mixture.Jaime Gomez,or Taboo,is a Mexican and American Indian descendant, and Stacy Ferguson,or Fergie,is a native Californian. Their breakthrough album,Elephunk, was released in 2003.The anti?war song Where Is the Love became their first major hit, topping the charts almost everywhere else, and was the best?selling single of 2003 in the UK. Perhaps their various backgrounds provide them with wonderful capability to produce inventive music, by mixing hip?hop, R&B and jazz.Along with the positive lyrics and lively shows,Black Eyed Peas has gained devoted fans worldwide. “We were just thinking of good songs, good music.”William admitted,“We didn’t

A.to attend the charity auction B.to advertise for drinking companies in Shanghai C.to give shows to raise money for the earthquake?hit areas D.to promote their first album, Elephunk 65.Who is a pure American by origin? A.They Found the Love B.Black Eyed Peas C.Mixing Blood Creates Inventive Music D.Love and Compassion D With_eco?tourism_on_the_rise , eco?hotels_are_fast_becoming_the_darling_of_the_travel_industry.These days , however, staying at an eco?hotel doesn’t necessarily mean vacationing in a tree house in the Costa Rican jungle, although that is certainly a choice. The majority of eco?hotels fall into one of several categories:hotels and resorts that conserve ecologically important habitats;“green”hotels that reduce, recycle, minimize waste, and protect water;sustainable hotels that harvest food from gardens on the hotel property or get part or all of their power from renewable energy; hotels that encourage community involvement such as guests taking part in trail clearing; and hotels that offer some form of environmental education to their guests. As such ,eco?hotels are a various group.Stylish(雅致的 )urban hotels like Intercontinental The Willard Washington,D.C.focus on energy conservation, whereas The Rosario Resort & Spa on Orcas Island in Washington state offers a wildly popular“green”vacation package where guests can“take a hike, clear a trail, and enjoy a vacation” and in return receive a special “green” rate. No matter what you call them, eco?hotel, eco?lodge, eco?resort,or green hotel, they’re all part of the “greening” of the tourism industry , representing a conscience(良知) effort on the part of hotels. Part of what drives this greening of the hotel industry is no doubt competition.Going green is yet another way to distinguish themselves from the mass of other excellent hotels that consumers have to choose from. But for many hotels, it’s also part and parcel of their philosophy. With the concept of “going green” firmly rooted in consumers’ minds, eco?hotels take it to the next level, and whether or not money is the driving factor behind the greening of the hotel industry doesn’t matter so much as that it’s good for the planet. 68.The underlined sentence in the first paragraph means________. A.lovers like staying at an eco?hotel while traveling B.eco?hotels become very popular in the travel industry C.eco?hotels are where young people love to live D.eco?hotels are where romantic love stories happen

A.protects important habitats B.harvests food from its garden C.teaches its guests courses on environment D.encourages its guests to involve in the community 第二节(共 5 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 10 分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余 选项。 Taking good notes is a time?saving skill that will help you to become a better student in several ways.__71__.
